Jaime and I were married on Saturday. The day went almost perfectly. Jaime has started the arduous process of changing her name on EVERYTHING. License, credit cards, bank accounts, RN license, social security card.... the list goes on. I'm really greatful to everyone who came, especially our family from Buffalo and Pennsylvania and friends from Maryland.
I think everyone had a good time and I think we put a reasonable dent in the open bar :)
We had almost 2000 pictures from Saturday and that doesn't count the ones from the professional photographers because those won't be in for two weeks. It's really hard to pick out the best ones from such a large set. The first pass is here at flickr.
Our vows:
Will you answer me right now
These questions, as your wedding vow?
Will you take her as your wife?
Will you love her all your life?
Will you take him by the hand?
And make a husband of this man?
Will you have, and also hold
Just as you’ve at this time told?
(Both Nod)
Will you love through good and bad?
In times of happy and of sad?
Will you love if you are rich?
Or if you're poor, and in a ditch?
Will you love when you are fit,
And also when you're feeling sick?
Will you love with all your heart?
Will you love till death you part?
(Both Nod)
Then if you'll take her as your wife,
And if you'll love for all your life,
And if you'll take him by the hand,
And make a husband of this man,
And if you'll have, and if you'll hold,
From now until the stars grow cold,
And if you'll love through good and bad,
in times of happy and of sad,
And love in sickness, and in health,
And when you're poor, and when in wealth,
And if you'll love with all your heart,
From now until your death you part,
Yes, if you'll love, through all and through,
Please answer with the words: I DO
Groom and Bride: I DO!
Please now take and wear these rings
remember that they’re not just things,
But symbols of both love and trust
Both of which are such a must.
(Exchange Rings)
You're married now! So kiss the bride,
But please, do keep it dignified.
